UPI’s Impact on CFTC Phase 2 Rewrite

Mr. Kaplun serves as the head of Business Development for S&P Global Market Intelligence Cappitech and is responsible for leading the expansion of the regulatory reporting capabilities in the Americas. Mr. Kaplun has deep expertise in OTC derivatives, G20 regulatory reporting and post trade services.

Meg Francis is the Customer Experience Officer (CXO) for Equities Data and Analytics and Cappitech divisions and has over 13 years of experience in the financial technology industry. Ms. Francis has served in several roles within the Equities division including director of operations, business manager and global head of client services. Prior to joining S&P Global Market Intelligence, she worked at Inspired Gaming Group as the global head of service delivery. Ms. Francis holds a degree from Cambridge University.

Vishal serves as Product Management Associate Director, S&P Global Market Intelligence Cappitech. Prior to joining Cappitech, Vishal has worked on various Global Regulations engagements such as G20 OTC Derivatives Market Reforms, Market and Credit Risk reporting for marquee sell side financial institutions. Vishal holds an MBA from Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines and Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from National Institute of Technology, Surat, India. He is also CFA® Charterholder and certified FRM®.

Emma Kalliomaki is Managing Director of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) and the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), organizations seeking to foster standardization within the financial services industry by upholding the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) principles and through promoting use of International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) and Classification of Financial Instruments codes (CFIs), Financial Instrument Short Names (FISN), and the Unique Product Identifier (UPI). While Emma has been working as MD, the DSB has been designated by the Financial Stability Board as the sole service provider for the UPI System supporting the G20 initiative to improve data alignment and provide the harmonization needed for increased supervision and transparency of global OTC derivatives markets. Emma has over 15 years of experience in financial services reference data, standards, and regulation, previously also working as head of the London Stock Exchange’s reference data operations.
